I found this sweet wire basket at a thrift store and knew exactly what it needed: treasures from the shore. First, I gave it a fresh coat of paint then I filled it with mostly shells (mussel and oyster). I felt like it was missing something so I included a few big soft chunks of sea glass I’ve collected here along the coast of Friendship, Maine.
I love giving old thrifted finds a new purpose, and this one went from somebody’s forgotten basket to a collection of things the tide left behind.
It’s one of a kind, because no two days on the shore ever turn up the same treasures.
Measures approximately 13 1/2 inches long (including the handles), 7 inches wide and just under 3 inches tall.
