These coastal Christmas trees are handmade using lobster rope and genuine sea glass that I collected along the shore here in Friendship, Maine. Each one sits on a simple metal base and is topped off with a rustic star.
Before I use the lobster rope, it gets a good cleaning with Clorox and is then sun-dried outdoors. Once it’s clean and ready to go, I wrap each tree by hand and finish the base with pieces of my beach-found sea glass.
No two trees come out quite the same, and that’s exactly the way I like them. The different colors and textures of the rope, along with the naturally tumbled sea glass, give each one its own salty little personality.
They’re perfect on a shelf, tucked on the mantel, or mixed in with your Christmas decorations. They also make a great Maine gift for somebody who loves the ocean, lobster boats, beachcombing, or just a good old-fashioned coastal Christmas.
Measures approximately 14 inches tall including the star.
