This wooden box began its life quietly on a secondhand shelf, but now it carries a bit of ocean magic in its bones. Hand-painted in a soft, weathered gray, it feels like driftwood that decided to stay. On the front, a lone mermaid rests—part guardian, part storyteller—watching over what’s tucked inside.
Look inside and you’ll find 200 pieces of white sea glass, each one shaped by time, tide, and a thousand unseen journeys. Their mostly frosted surfaces catch the light like tiny moons, smooth and cool to the touch, as if they’ve been practicing patience for years just to arrive here.
This box isn’t just a container—it’s a little tide pool of memories, a quiet treasure chest where the sea whispers without making a sound.
Measures 12 1/2 inches long and 2 inches high.
I made the mermaid from scratch using a mold and added her to the front of the box using a strong adhesive.
Sea glass was found by me in Friendship, Maine.
